Latest project....just thought I'd post up some pics. It is an organizer for sheet steel/aluminum. We do sublimation at work (pictures on metal) so that is what all of the sheets are for.PicsFront supportsCappedMiddle supportsTall supportsObligatory pic of weldsMade some spacers to keep everything spread out evenly while I welded the top slats together2 of the 4 top slats welded on (ran out of material and had to wait for the delivery guy to drop some more off )
Reply:We are going to be loading/unloading the sheet steel in from the skinnier end (see first pic) but we also want to be able to unload it from the fatter end so I made this stopperDownUpPut on the handles (front & rear) You can also see that the other 2 top slats are now welded onCasters are in the mail. Paint is on Monday -- Finished pics will be up soon!Jeff

Reply:Here's a pic of me doing some TIG work. This organizer was all MIG welded though. I needed a self portrait shot for the photography class I'm taking at the local City CollegeTIG Portrait by Jeff States, on FlickrIMG_7519 by Jeff States, on FlickrIMG_7518 by Jeff States, on FlickrIMG_7517 by Jeff States, on FlickrIMG_7516 by Jeff States, on FlickrThe organizer works great. The casters are very nice (Northern Tool -- rated at 600 lbs each IIRC) and very affordable. I'll be using the same ones for my welding table.
Reply:Here's the organizer w/ nothing in itHere's what we do with the sheet aluminum/metal. It's called sublimationThese are prints we did for Cal-Poly and National Geographic. All of these prints are going to be framed in an anodized black aluminum frame. You can see the frame in the last 2 pics |
