Hey guys, I'm a 30 year old woman that just graduated college with an advanced welding certification in hand. Looking for work in Southeastern Texas. Preferably with a big name company, as they are more apt to hire a woman in this field. I have a little over a year and a half of experience. I'm knowledgeable in 1G-6G with MIG, TIG, stick and flux core. Oxy-fuel and plasma arc cutting and carbon arc gouging. Blueprint reading, fabrication and math. Any pointers on who is hiring around here will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Reply:Here you go, Houston close enough? http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=500312Look at other posts by the same guy as he has posted for a bunch of positions, pay and beni's look good on all of them.
Reply:Search Eagle Ford Shale pipeline and mid stream companies and you will find a long list of companies that hire welders. There is also the refineries in Corpus Christi and the Chemical companies along the Gulf coast. There quite a few jobs that are pipeline related that can get you a foot in the door to a welding job.
Reply:apply with JV Industrial, they hire new welders and train them at their own school. You may have to travel.
Reply:Houston is the place to be.Poachers are hitting job sites trying to hire those who are already working.
Reply:Awesome, thanks guys! I'll take a look into these places. |
