I love watching these old clips.  Check out that 600 Amp GE welder!
Reply:Thanks for sharing.  There was a time when GE was one of the major players in the welding industry.  That welder looked more like a water heater than welder.  Wonder if any of them are still around? After viewing this, I guess I better keep my AC machine.
Reply:I really like the graphics. No CGI back then!It would be cool to find and restore one of those machines. PapaLincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175

Reply:I like the attention given to arc blow and the open arc shown being affected by a magnet.Seems many old videos sound like that guy is the narrator. Reply:Cool vid, thanksBut you really don't see many high amp, AC welders today. I think the Miller AirPak offers AC. I really would like to play with some 3/8" electrodes!"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:That was a cool video, I love all that old footage. After watching the video on the G/E Farm welder I had to find one just cause I wanted one. Now I have to look for a 600amp water heater welder to put next to it.   Attached ImagesI hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:Originally Posted by SuperArcThat Forney video was indeed posted here about a year ago. It was cool!  Leads me to my next comment which is a tangent, but I love Forney 7014's!!!! Sooooo smooth!I have about 15lbs left over of some old Forney 5/32" 7024's I got from my grandfather.   They are at least 50 years old and still work, when I wanna "play" with them to my welding friends that come over for beer and a laugh.  Set the Lincoln at 200 A AC and I watch the "lava" flow on my 3/4" railroad tie plates.  I have no "serious" use for them.  Though I have DC current available, I'm the "1 in 100" person that really likes welding with AC more than DC.  I seem to get better looking welds with AC.  It's probably due to the fact that I'm just handicapped at stick all together.
