Need Help! what does this machine do?!?!?!

Ok guys and gals,     i had a friend of a friend come to me and is offering to sell a EASCO Sparcatron EDM to me.  I've been in the game for a while now, but totally new to the CNC, CAD deal.  I have no idea what this machine can do, what the limits are and where to begin with it.  he has offered it to me for the grand number of $3,000.oo.  Not sure if this is a good price or not, but i really need everyones help here!  i get on here often but have lurked the entire time, but please help me out.thanks!
Reply:What model is the machine? I ran EDM for 20+ years, and the first ones I ran were Easco. Basically, the machine removes metal by spark erosion. (I call it backwards welding) A graphite, or copper electrode is brought in contact with an electrically conductive workpiece, that is submerged in a dielectric oil. A "gap" is formed between the electrode, and the workpiece that is controlled by the amount of amperage. The electrode is advanced into the workpiece automatically at a controlled rate. and "burns" it's shape into the workpiece. Mostly used in Moldmaking, it can "burn" almost any shape into any electrically conductive material. You will also need the power supply, and if it's a sinker, you will need support machines to make the electrodes--- surface ginder, mill, etc. Let me know what it is, I'll help you as much as I can--------------------------------John
