If you need something obscure, broken, moldy,obsolete, rusty or just plain weird, check this auction out. Looks like the kind of place I liked to play as a kid-  I saw a tombstone Idealarc 250, a Powercraft tombstone that looks just like the idealarc, a Airco heliwelder, a lincoln CV power source, an unidentified welder under a tarp, and what looks suspiciously like an old engine drive at  jpg3717.  Also a bunch of cans of rod and what looks like stellite hardfacing wire.  Be sure to leave time of departure, estimated time of return, and a trail of crumbs......  http://stokesauction.com/photogaller...bum/index.html
Reply:The Powercraft AC 250 Roundtop is a first for me. Knew they made the 225 version but don't recall ever seeing one of the big ones. The other Idealarc is a late 50's with that green faceplate. Looks cherry. That would be one fun but incredibly looooooong auction.

Reply:I went to a huge farm auction late last spring. Coldest, windiest day of the entire winter. Sold everything including the bath mats out of the house. Of course they started with the household stuff first and didn't even start on the good stuff until about 3 pm. It was the scrap guys against whoever was left standing. Sadly, most of it went to the shredder. It was still going at dark : 30 with a light tower. I cried uncle and hit the road.

Reply:I live up on the hill above Stokes yard. Very seldom will I go to one of their auctions, Seems to me they have people who run the price up while bidding. Well at least that's the way it was when Larry ran the auctions! I've seen things go for 3 xs the price of new. I've had really good luck at James G.
