Just bought a used HH 140 and came with the Hobart small cart doesn't really work well for me. Been looking around at different ones people's made. Don't have scrap laying around so have to buy steel and cut so what would be a good probably tubing to go with.
Reply:1/2 inch square tubing is fairly strong very easy to work can be bent into a three inch curve and is fairly light. Since it is quite inexpensive you can use more of it for bracing and other places where you may want to double up.   Mac
Reply:I use 1/8" thick angle iron for light stuff like a mig cart.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:A lot depends on where you are using it. Concrete or blacktop with solid wheels is ok. Gravel , dirt , uneven terrain make need to be beefer with air tires. Depends on how much you wanna spend too.   Here's a posting from the Miller site for some ideas. http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...-welding-carts
Reply:As long as you have a cart, think about modifying it, rather than starting from scratch.Ask yourself what this thing's weaknesses are, and what can be done to overcome them?If tearing it apart and rebuilding it from the ground up is what it'll take, GO FOR IT!Just try and keep it reasonable. My dream cart will weigh 2,200lbs and will use 1.3 gph of Diesel fuel if I ever build it.Be wary of The Numbers: Figures don't lie,. but liars can figure.Welders:2008 Lincoln 140 GMAW&FCAW2012 HF 165 'toy' GTAW&SMAW1970's Cobbled together O/A

Reply:Well was thinking more like 3/4 to 1" tubing.

Reply:Would like a bigger cart all around plus taller don't really think for me it would work to mod the cart I have now. Just have to find ones I like and make it mine but for now added a brick to get help a little.
