I built this bridge over my spillway a few years back. Put 3-1/2"x12" boards on top to drive on. Built it in 3 pcs in my shop. Lot of concrete!!
Reply:Looks pretty decent for a solderer. Got any finished pix with water flowing underneath it?

Reply:Will have to get pics off my phone. Water only flows underneath when we have a lot of rain. I have a overflow pipe for the small creek running in my lake. When it can't handle all the water, then it goes out the emergency spillway.
Reply:Just my pickup trucks. I use it to get to my land on the other side of my lake. Sometimes my neighbors cross it when they go fishing.
Reply:Looks pretty good, lot of work. Personally I would have put extra beams longways where tires would be.Tim Beeker.
Reply:I put 3-1/2"x12" solid oak boards cross-ways.
Reply:Agree sounds very strong, not doubting that at all.Tim Beeker.
Reply:I probably would have added another length wise beam to shorten your span on the cross members, but that's just me.There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:I've been in parts of the world where that bridge you built there would be the safest traffic infrastructure around...maybe even overbuilt. The Malaysians woulda gotten two bridges outta that much material! ;-)Looks great!Cheers,Q1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 RefitMiller TB280 w/Spoolmatic 30a2016 AHP AlphaTIG 200XAncient Millermatic 35Zeny Cut50 plasma cutter |
