Would a harbor freight 7000 watt generator run a Hobart 210mvp or would I have issues?

Reply:Honestly- probably no issues. The biggest issue people have with running welding machines from genets is the size of the generator. Iffin' it is the Predator 7000/8250 peak genset then you are right at the matched size for the Hobart's needs in power. You'll need to make an adapter plug/pigtail since the Genset has a twist lock 240v 30amp receptacle.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge

Reply:Is this the adapter I would need? Also sorry about the double question I must not have been paying attention when I typed that last night.

Reply:Thanks for the help, I will find someone to do that as soon as I pick up the generator.
Reply:For what it's worth, I bought the "champion" brand of that generator from Costco for less than HF sells theirs. Might be worth checking out. Also comes with battery, wheel kit, and remote starter. I actually paid for a membership to Costco just to buy that generator. Also run a 210mvp off it, with no problems at all. Your best bet would be to make your own adapter. Very easy. You need a length of cord, at least 10ga with 2 wires and a ground, an L14-30 plug, and a 6-50 receptacle. You could have an electrician wire it for you. Buy a 25 or 50' cord so it can be used as an extension cord from your generator.
Reply:Thanks for the heads up on the generator! After looking it up it seems like a better deal I will pick one of those up instead. |
