New Plasma Cutting Machine

Just finished installing a new PlasmaCam DHC2 in my shop and made the first cuts yesterday....thought I'd show a few pictures of the unit and some cuts. It has a Hypertherm Powermax45 plasma and smoke is controlled by a Torit Porta-Trunk fume extractor with pulse cleaning.....the base of the PlasmaCam is enclosed to control fumes.I had previously owned the original PlasmaCam model 98z....which I sold about a year ago....this one is light years ahead as far as cut quality and ease of use go. The software that comes with the machine can be easily learned just by following directions in the manual....over time you get more proficient with it. You also can import .dxf files from other types of drawing packages. The automatic torch height control is probably the most amazing part....I did a test yesterday with a 12" square piece  of 20 gauge rusty steel....with one side of the steel 1" higher than the other....I was cutting a 3" square at 150 inches per minute....and the height control kept the torch at .080" off the plate through the complete cut without contact.First picture....in the crate. Second pic...The Hypertherm Powermax45. Hand torch unplugs and the machine torch plugs in in seconds with no tools! third Pic....assembled machine....about 2 hours after opening the crate. Fourth...cutting some holes in 1/4" steel. Hole sizes cut can be seen in the last picture...from left to right 1", 3/4", 1/2", 3/8", 1/4" and 3/16"....perfectly round but about .005" taper in the edge...so the holes are about .010" smaller on the bottom. Reply:I suppose so.....but there are some great capital equipment tax incentives that will let you write off a good portion. The base PlasmaCam machine is under $10k.Jim
Reply:I am EXTREMELY jealous!! I was just about to bite the bullet and purchase one about a year ago. I called and the price went up about $1500-2000 in one month! As silly as it sounds ... that put it out of my tight budget and I have regretted not buying one since. One a side note, I have some flanges that need to be cut in 1/8" steel. Its just a small production run. I know your machine is "new" but do you think we can work something out? PM please.
