Dog Crate

This is a Dog Crate I made for a bear hunter here in West Virginia.  I hadn't welded aluminum in about seven months, and it took me a while to get my sh*t together, but once I did, the gremlins came out.  Leaky water hose on my torch exploded in my face five times one night, I felt like I was auditioning for a Peter North film.  Once I got that fixed, the gas hose split, so I fixed it, and it split again.  Trouble was, it leaked just enough to make me think my skills were at fault.  The tungsten never discolored, but running a bead-on-plate showed very little etching at the toes, so I switched over to my air cooled torch and problem solved.  But welding at 190 amps AC on a 150 amp air cooled torch sucks, and a trip to my LWS was out of the question, so I got a $3 piece of 1/4" vinyl tubing, connected it to the barb fitting with some electrical tape and I was back in business.  My work is nowhere near the level of ZTfab or some of the other heavy hitters here, but I am pleased.  Aluminum: It's not that it's harder to weld, it's just sooo much easier to screw it up. Reply:The cylinders are alignment tubes I made on the lathe to get everything lined up with the bed of the polaris.  They just pull out and the crate gets attached using expandable rubber plugs
