I thought the work flow of this job would be interesting. I'm not doing the mounting, just the cutting. A friend down the road bought an IR telehandler. All he got with it was a set of forks. He wanted to adapt an old bucket and bale squeeze he already had. His son said I could whip out the plates... no sweat.  He gave me a cardboard template as a starting point. First thing I did was "digitize" it. I then put a pen on my cnc table and "plotted" a pattern. Several trips to the farm and a few patterns later I was confident I had a good pattern. Plasma cut from 1" steel. Decided to hole saw the 1-5/8" pin hole rather than risk plasma cutting it. He spent a better part of the day watching the parts being cut. I was glad to put him to work drilling and chipping slag. I really need to buy some annular cutters.  Attached Images
Reply:I also cut the bale squeeze plates and the four cross plates. These were super easy because I didn't have to match a bucket radius.  Attached Images

Reply:Nice job, an exceptionally nice cut with the plasma, square and clean.....Mike
Reply:That's some mighty nice work your doing there,  Forhire. I love those plasma tables.
Reply:Why not cut the 1 5/8 pin holes with the plasma cutter ?I know it's hard doing the initial piercing but hole saws are real slow and don't cut a real accurate hole yes annular cutters are way better than hole saws if keep them cool and sharpBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I stopped by the farm this morning to pull some dimensions for another adapter I'm currently building. I saw the other IR telehandler in the shed with the bucket that was adapted a year or so ago. Figured I'd snap a photo. It looked like it turned out pretty nice. Remember, I only cut the brackets, I'd never seen them attached. I did some hunting around and found the IR to JD adapter used for the hay squeeze. Not sure what happened. I'm told it works great but it definitely looks farm made. Enjoy!
