O/A reg ?

I got a oxy/acetylene rig in a combo deal recently. I filled the tanks and neither or the regs seem to be working right. The acetylene reads fine until you open it up then the guages go flat. The torch stays lit but the reg reads 0. The valve on the tank is opened a full turn. I havent tried it with oxygen yet due the oxy reg issue i have. The oxy reg leaked as soon as i opened the tank valve and i think it was the burst disc that blew within a few seconds.Are my regs toast?If so please teach me about regs. I dont know anything. Whats the difference between medium duty and heavy duty? Single stage and two stage? Size? Brand? Please teach me what you know.  It is mostly for occasional cutting. Not welding. Reply:You may have to open the acetylene bottle further than one turn. Some valves are just that way.The oxygen regulator can probably be rebuilt. If it's a good one it will be worth doing.
