I've been watching Jody's videos on YouTube and he mentions using pulse where thinner metal is involved.I bought the welder to make parts for my airplane (Vans RV-7A), we're talking mainly .040 5052 AL fillet and corner joints. Yes, I know that as a noobie, thin wall AL welds are some of the toughest, but I'm going thru bottles of gas and my welds are better and the "blown away" parts are less - but I'm looking suggestions. Note, I've not actually put ANY of my "welded parts" on the aircraft yet, I know my limitations here.Jody's "rule of 33" does not appear to apply to AC welding on the Invertig, since the AC Pulse Frequency can only go to 10Hz in AC, Does using 1-2Hz in AC do the same job as 33Hz?Perhaps for thin AL there are some suggestions for the Invertig Electrode Negative and/or Electrode Positive settings?

Reply:It does 10 pulses per second on AC. So no you can't do 33, but 10 works well.DC pulse goes to 999. Reply:Hmmmmm I have better results with smaller front end parts and normal AC.....Might be wrong but haven't experienced the benefit of pulse on AC....Watching the puddle and dabing as necessary works for me.....There is no magic settings for thin aluminum, either you understand how to weld it or Not......
