When I purchased my dynasty 200dx a year ago I also got a CK17 150A air cooled torch with a 12.5' superflex hose. I am spoiled with the extreme flexibilty of it. I am now considering going watercooled to take advantage of the 200 amps available since a good portion of my hobby includes aluminum. I also have an old miller radiator 1 that hasnt been used in many years. It does spool up but I havent filled the res with any thing yet. I just havent decided wether to trust it or not. Ive been eyeing the watercooled CK flexloc 20 for the torch, but not sure how to go about putting together a gas hose, power cable, water hose setup yet. I need this to be as flexible as possible. I guess i am getting confused with all the options. I see individual hoses and cable as well as a " triflex" kit (212TF)Im also wondering why the power cable isnt watercooled sort of how my superflex cable is cooled by the gas flowing past it. Or maybe it is and one hose is the return line anyone have any insight on this. Thanks OzDynasty 200DXMiller 210 Spooly
Reply:It's a bit confusing when you look at it. There should be three lines to the torch.  Coolant in-this goes to the torch head, coolant out/power cable-the warmed coolant from the head flows back and cools the power cable, and gas.  You need a Dinse adapter for the connection.  Your power cable/coolant out threads into it.  There's a pigtail that comes off at 90* that goes to the input of your cooler.  Your gas line threads into the machine.  Your coolant line threads directly into the cooler output.  If you want to check flow, take the pigtail off the cooler, put a measuring container under it, and turn the cooler on.  For CK20 torches, they spec a liter a minute of coolant flow, so if you can fill a 1 quart mason jar in under a minute, you're good. There are various other adapters and ways to do it, but this is how a Dinse connector dynasty hooks up.  You can go to the Miller website and look up the PN of the adapter.  If you go to the Buy/sell section here and look the the posting "The Tozzman Selleth", you'll see the adapter.  Good luck.EditThis is my old thread with the PNhttp://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ghlight=MillerLast edited by Drf255; 07-13-2013 at 05:14 AM.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:You can get the CK torches with the Dinse adapter and a leather cover at a very reasonable price from usaweld.com- they have very good customer service and are very helpful. Also, if your old Radiator 1 doesn't make it, don't get the Coolmate 1 which Miller sells for the Dynasty 200. They are noisy and have a poor reputation for reliability. The Coolmate 3 is much better, I have one that is 12 yrs. old and still going strong. They are fairly easy to find used.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:Nice. Thanks for the tips.I looked in the case mine came in and forgot there that there was two spare dinse connectors in there as well as a new stinger and a smith reg/flow meter. Now i can setup a purge line. Is there an adapter that will allow me to run two regs off of one bottle?I imagine there are more than one type of dinse connectors. Maybe ill take a pic of these and see if they will work for the wc.Dynasty 200DXMiller 210 Spooly
