I would like to get my hands on four 1/4x1-1/2 threaded flange studs for my hydraulic tank, would any of you fellas happen to have some sitting on a shelf that you could spare? I don't need a box of 1000 and I can't find them any other place than MSC.
Reply:Check McMaster Carr. mcmaster.com
Reply:Does this describe what you need:Threaded Studs Style: Double Ended Thread (Equal Thread) Thread Size: 1/4-20 Overall Length: 1-1/2 Material: Stress Proof Steel MSC sells them individually for $1.59 eachhttp://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMAKA=74366048It appears though that the fine thread, 1/4-28, are only sold $32.78 per 100 (plain steel)http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMAKA=07165210-MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:I forgot to check Mcmaster but I just did and they do have them and they are listed as "Weld Studs with Underhead Projections" but they only sell them in packs of 50 and I only need four or six at the most lol.
Reply:Are you thinking of studs shot with a stud welder? weldersales
Reply:That might be another name for it but what I am looking at another type that could be welded with a spot welder or a M16 welder it's listed on page 3119 in Mcmaster's online catalog. I plan on using a mig to secure it down into place the only reason I am looking at these is because it would a bit more professional than a bolt mig welded inside of my tank. |
