Welding up some 1-1/2 sch 40 spool pieces with 3/32 6010 root and 7018 cap no fill. The root is super fast paced but doable but capping is so tough. All the pieces are pretty long with a lot of 90's which makes it hard to roll out so most of the joints are in position. I know somebody on here has got this mastered, is there anyway to make this look half way decent? 0.145 wall with 3/32" land root 65-70 amps, cap 70-75 amps and fighting the hole way. Thanks all
Reply:Pretty hard since it is 1 1/2". Ends up with a lot of starts and stops. Just makes a lot of grinding the starts and stops.ChrisAuction Addict
Reply:More amperage. 3/32 7018 usually likes 85-95 amps. When the rod burns like it should and the weld wets out like it should things will go together better.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG |
