I went out to weld today and could not get my auto hood to turn on. I recently had the batteries changed out. I got to thinking maybe the hood had stayed on and ran the batteries down so I went and bought another set of batteries and replaced them. Still no luck. Any suggestions? If my hood is dead can the auto lense part be replaced without buying a new hood? My hood is two or three years old. Any suggestions would be apprecitated. Reply:My brother put his batteries in upside-down (button type) on his Miller lid. Reply:Yes. I pulled out the auto lense cluster and pulled the batteries out. They are in a assembly that holds two in the upside down position. I made sure when I replaced them that they went back as I pulled the others out. I'm not sure now if the other batteries are bad. I can't figure out why its not working. I use it often and have never dropped it or left it out in the rain. It has been trouble free since day one. Reply:Did you check the voltage of the batteries? If you can't/won't do that, you could try new batteries?Do you own a voltmeter or multimeter? |
