Reply:Hard to say not knowing the brand/model of torch and regulators.  If they are "owner" tanks, they are worth quite a bit."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:That's fair, as Dick said if the cylinders are owned. Looks to be possibly Harris, Victor or knockoffs on a rough guess. The oxygen regulator looks like Victor anyways.I would try to get it for around $300, but it's not bad all things considered. I've seen them priced lass, and for much more. Won't have a lot of cut time with those size cylinders, but adequate for hobby/home garage use.IMHO of courseExpert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:Thanks i'll email em and ask some more questions.
Reply:Just make sure to find out who the cylinders belong to. They're small enough that most independent places will likely fill them.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:Depending on what the regs/torch is, the price is either high to fair. Cylinders look like a 75 cf acetylene and 80 or 100cf O2 cylinder. Cylinders alone from my place would run $110 and $165 plus tax looking at my old add from my LWS in my desk. They also sell one of the import Victor clone reg/torch kits that has everything shown for $200 in the add. A true Victor set would run at least another $100 more. On sale complete, they sell the cylinders and the lower grade import torch kit at a discount for $400, only $50 less than what's in the add. However if the regs and torch in the add is of better quality, then the deal starts to get better.Around me it's not too uncommon to see just the cylinders regs and cutting torch run $200-250 on occasion. The extra tips and so on would probably bring you back up to around $350. Many guys never use the welding tips, so it's not a huge loss to them not to have them. All they really want to do with OA is cut and occasionally heat a few small things. The cutting torch can be used for that if need be and that's often what many do rather than change tips. Even the smallest Rosebud is pushing the limits of what those cylinders can supply. It can be used, just not for very long or it will deplete the supply of acetylene gas that can come out of solution and you can start sucking acetone that is hard on the reg seals..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Could be Uniweld but the guy selling it should have taken a much better picture(s) to show exactly what everything is. I kind of doubt that it is original Victor because most sellers would highlight that. Any name brand for that matter. If the cylinders are customer owned and it can be proven, the price isn't bad.Looked at the ad again and it appears there are 2 different style of regulators. The T handles look different.Last edited by Welder Dave; 02-08-2015 at 03:23 PM.
