I was at a antique steam and power show saturday . I saw an old Mack Truck with a B tank. It was mounted horizontal? I think that is wrong. Is it that dangerous? I thought you should never lay them done because the acetone separates ? Not sure so needed to ask.

Reply:Older "MC" or "B" cylinders with the off center valves are designed to be used either vertical or horizontally mounted with the valve at the highest point. The acetylene powered the headlights. This is most likely what you saw on that old Mack. Newer "B" cylinders with the valve dead center in the top need to be used vertically..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Learned something new today, well, new to me anyway.
Reply:Just think about the fun taking that tank to the LWS to be filled! :-)
Reply:Why? It's attached to the truck, just drive it down and get another one... .No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
