"New" XMT 350 CC/CV for $3,200. Thoughts

Machine has changed hands and is 2 years old.  Current seller claims it has never been used.  Unit has no power cord and does have factory carton.  No warranty.  No original invoice.  What could go wrong?  If it looks completely new would you bite?  I am a hobbyist looking for more capability.  Will run it off of 240v single phase.  Thanks!
Reply:It will run off 230v single phase. I believe you can run the serial number thru Miller to insure it wasn't reported stolen.
Reply:If it's full CC/CV, auto-line voltage, tested working, and looks clean, then I'd bite... they're probably the best of its kind. Awesome power for stick welding, and a really sweet and forgiving MIG arc.Once you get it, take the cover off, blow out any dust from the boards, and re-torque the bolts holding the caps and boards down.I have a 25 yearold XMT 304 in my shop... hooked up for MIG... it's one of the best MIG sets I've ever used, and I've used a few... I sold it to my brother recently, which is great, cos I still get to use it if needed!Murphy's Golden Rule: Whoever has the gold, makes the rules.
Reply:If the welder is less than 3 years old By serial number. Miller will fix it. no questions asked. up to a four year old machine if purchased less than 3 you have to be the first owner and have a sales receipt with the serial number preprinted on it.We now have to attach a copy of the sales receipt to our warranty claim for any welder more than 3 years old. They put the warranty only to first owner in their warranty papers to give them an out if they feel something is not right.Both Lincoln and Miller are pushing the stores to register the welder to the new owner before it leaves the store. Or tell new owner how to do it on line themselves.You will need to take the cover off to put a power cord on. Just get a length of SOOWcord and a plug or a cord set. might need ring terminals to connect cord  to the line switch. screws are #10Send me the serial number by private message or just call miller tach support and see what they will tell you.
