Anyone familar with the esab migmaster 275  @ $1800 shipped, price is close to the MM 252 and the Lincoln 255 but it seems to have a heavier duty cycle and a few more options (what is the flat and slope taps) and the pulse width modulated solid state control  Migmaster® 275 Package w/15 ft. A friend bought one of these a few months back. Reply:Ok thanks guys.  I am relatively new to the mig world but have picked it up pretty quick and doing well I think.  Good friend of mine who is a certified welder for grove crane says my welds would pass x-ray (well most of the).  But I am outgrowing the little hobart 140 that I have pretty quick.  The duty cycle is like 20% at 90 amps so I weld for a bit and it starts to splatter and get pinholes then shuts down for like 10 mins to cool off and I am looking at doing a lot of welding in the very near future would really like to have something that will handle continuos at like 160 - 170 so if the 250 is 60% at 250 that would probably even fit the bill.  What are all the bells and whistles for the pulse modulation and spot and stitch stuff
Reply:Don't be afraid of Esabs. I just had a new 250+ go up in smoke while under warranty and Esab replaced it FAST with a Multimaster 260. They are top notch units.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
Reply:FWIW, the reason the 250+ went up in smoke was most likely due to shipping damage. They said it sounded like it had a cracked transformer core or something like that. So it was damage, not quality.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS

Reply:i never ran an esab welder in my life until a couple of weeks ago. very very nice, i was impressed! im a lincoln fan but will certainly consider esab for my next machine. their flux core wire is the finest flux core i have ever run too.
