Reply:I've never used a 777 but I have used a 555 to bend some metal.  The greenlee benders are made for electrical conduit but I have used it for smaller exhaust pipe and also some thicker walled pipe.  Probably not the best bender for tubing and what not but probably would work.  The dies for the 555 are limited to the sizes of the electrical conduit and are very expensive, even used.  As far as the price, not sure what the 777 goes for but you can google it and see, I know the 555 is around 6000 brand new.  Hopefullly someone else can be of more help.

Reply:Ed, those type benders are really good for aluminum tube as they do not draw the material over a die. Aluminum tube/ pipe does not really enjoy that; it work hardens a lot, and cracks easily afterwards or flat spots badly. Those benders also work well for HEAVY wall pipe; ie 1/4" wall thickness and more. The bend radius is wider than many would prefer for many steel applications, and they do not do bends of 90 degrees and more very well. But they are a good quality bender.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
