I've searched a few different terms and didn't come up with anything. I've been looking around an came across "magswitch" products, and seems to be a pretty novel idea and well implemented. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I went ahead and decided to splurge a bit and purchase 200A grounding magnet and a 50mm corner magnet. Supposedly 550lb breakaway force on 1/4" flat steel, not bad for a small corner magnet. The one I'm refering to is http://www.magswitch.com.au/magsquar...magsquare.htmlHopefully I don't end up with 200 bucks worth of paperweights, and it took all of my better judgement (and bats flying out of my wallet) to not buy at least 2 of the 50mm magnets, but the videos on their site and youtube show them being pretty stout. If anyone has any experiences they'd like to share, please do so. I'll post a small review on them when I receive them some time next weekTheir website: http://www.magswitch.com.au/
Reply:You won't end up with a couple of paper weights, these magnets are fantastic, they do hold and without that knob to turn to release them you would be looking for a sledge hammer, and even then you would get the hammer stuck to it. I use them more for stops on my saws (table saw and chop saws), they work great for that use too. You'll be buying another 50 MM square soon. |
