I searched the Internet without success, so I am turning here for wisdom. Are there issues with welding differing titanium alloys to each other? Are there some combinations that do not work, or are not wise? For example, can you weld Ti-6Al-4V to 15-3-3-3? The only reference I could find is this page from Miller, which has a small filler material chart that isn't very comprehensive... http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...tanium-welding Thanks.__David Hillman
Reply:No problem. I would do some samples with the different fillers and get test them or get the enginneer to spec the compatible filler. Otherwise personally I would choose the softer of the 2.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea. |
