Hey ya'll, I'm new here...just made an account. My names Andrew, 22 yrs. old, been welding for 4 years structurally now makin the switch to pipe(tired of makin 15 bucks an hour). I found three machines on craigslist within 30 miles from me(Bakersfield, CA) so I'm gonna go check them out tomarrow. The machines are two SA 200 Redfaces and a SA 250 diesel. All have been redone except the engines and all are around $2k give or take a couple hundred. I was wondering if you guys have any tips on buying a machine, what to look for etc etc. I plan on running beads with all of them tomorrow. They range from 1972 to mid 90's models. Does anyone know the weights of these machines, I don't wanna overload my truck too bad(1992 F-250HD). Which machine would you choose and why? I hear Redfaces are really good machines. Any advice, tips, and hints are welcome. Thanks alot!

Reply:The "General Welding Questions" and "Welding Projects and Pictures" seem to have more traffic monitoring them. I would post the question in there instead of this section if you are looking for a quicker response. |
