Welding magnesium, what filler?

Reply:I would say no, you might be able to get away with it if your dealing with an aluminum alloy with a lot of magnesium but probably not with your typical mag casting. Magnesium filler wires are available

Reply:We use AZ92A filler wire for welding Magnesium castings.And as has been noted it's pretty expensive.We usually use it in 2.4mm diameter, I've found the 3.2mm filler a bit too big and not as user friendly as the 2.4mmRegards Andrew from Oz.
