We've got a fella here in the shop who's looking to do a FCAW test to CWB standards. Being out of a certified shop for over 25 years I've become lax in keeping up with current test standards. To that end, does anyone have a sketch or specs as to plate thickness, bevel and edge prep etc.....Mike
Reply:I've taken hundreds of self shielded flux core tests, and several gas shielded, they always looked like this. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:Thanks for the reply. I remember doing a test years....many...years ago and I thought it was 3/4 or 1" plate but this fella insists it was only 1/2", possibly he was right for a different qualification.....Mike
Reply:Around here that is called a limited test. You don't see that very often in the structural world. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:I have only done one limited test plate. All the others have been 1 inch unlimited. |
