Hey guys, a weldor buddy has this bizarre looking, but well used welding helmet.  I'm waiting for him to send me a picture of his beloved welding hoodie, but in the meantime, let's see yours!  Let's see it please and tell me why it's your favorite!Agape GuyEverlast Power I-MIG 200 (dual voltage)Everlast PowerArc 200 stickHarbor Freight Titanium 125 Easy FluxHypertherm Powermax 30Way too many power tools
Reply:This is my favorite helmet, not because it's really that fantastic but because it was on clearance for $80 a couple weeks ago so I finally have my own auto darkening helmet!  I was waiting until I could afford a digital elite or jackson boss, but this popped up in the meantime.  Kinda cheap feeling but it works well so far.  Hobart xvs.
Reply:Atm im using a speedglas adflo 91xx with built in hard hat, alot of people seem to dislike the headgear on these, but i have a small head so it fits me pretty well, its heavy, but very well balanced, and the air fed is a god send while stick welding pipe with 500 degrees of preheat on it.Sent from my LG-P716 using Tapatalk

Reply:Mine's a Miller digital Elite with the big window.   No pictures since it's just like every other one.I like the big window because it allows me to use a magnifier and my bifocals to see the puddle better. Dan
Reply:My Digital Elite "Joker", i bought it used off a buddy that was moving to cali, guy used to make tools for Starretts in Athol, MA, got the helmet and a jeep Cherokee (POS, but it netted me some $$$) i also have the digital performance helmet that my work bought for me since it was a "Liability" for me to use my own equipment.Miller Spoolmate 200 w/t S-52 WirefeederMM 211'09 Miller Trailblazer 302

Reply:It's a gun thing I'm well aware of. One that I frankly really don't like. Just seems more humorous on a pipeliner helmet than the muzzle of a gun.
Reply:Mine  Had it since June, and this was a few weeks ago after painting and decaling it. Pipeliner with the ratchet great and a gold #10. Love this hood. Attached Images

Reply:I've had one helmet since I started welding and I still have it. It's still in great condition, I clean it regularly and always replace lenses and parts when needed. Speedglas 100  I'd recommend it to anybody who welds, will stand up to mostly anything I think. I've done light duty, medium duty and heavy duty welding. GMAW, SMAW, MCAW, FCAW and some TIG as well. Great helmet, head gear is awesome I wouldn't change it for anything. But I am looking at buying the new Speedglas 9100XX helmet in the next few months, I've heard nothing but great reviews and I'm believing more and more that Speedglas is putting out the best helmets today.
Reply:My favorite hood. Thing is almost 20 years old!
Reply:My "Metal Man" bad rod helmet is looking pitted after a few years, but it still works!  I'm now considering a new hoodie from the Lincoln Viking Series line, a middle of the road hoodie, and to make my current Metal Man my backup. Reply:I like my miller elite hood... Don't care much for the joker design on the shell, but the lens is nice.  I may look into something with an auto grind shade. I've used the grind mode on my helmet all of ZERO times for grinding. It's easier to take it off than to turn the sensitivity knob all the way to grind.Teach Ag Mech - Mike At Home:Lincoln Electric AC225Miller Challenger 172Gas AxeWork:eclectic bunch of 90's vintage blue boxes

Reply:I have several. Miller Digital Elite, Miller digital performance? Pancake, couple of single shades, soft/sock hood. My go to daily is a sugar scoop with a shade 11 Jackson auto in it. Dropped it from 40 feet off the pipe rack in Africa and just chipped the paint, lens was fine. Its light, the rubber draw string is comfortable, rather than the clicky rachet thing. Variable lens autos with grind mode are for rookie squirt gun shop welders in my opinion. Plus windshields are cheaper. Not that I care. The Jackson lens is white rather then green. I also run sheep skin inserts on all of my head gear. My LWS sells them for like 12 bucks.14' PowerMig 210 MP13'Burntables 5x10 CNC Table14' SAE300 HE on a 12' Ram 4500 60 CA 4x4. Reply:Pancake (Sarge)  This is my second one in the last 24 years.  First one was still good, but got stolen when they got into my shop and my rig was sitting in there.  Also have a Harbor Freight AD, just because someone on here posted a few years ago about it being like $15, and I had never tried an AD.  It actually works good, several of us have tried it, nobody has had it malfunction or anything.  Just don't really care for it after all these years of using a pancake...-------------------------Chemetron AC/DC 300 HFSnap-On MM300L Lincoln SP140 Lincoln AC/DC 225g Lincoln SA200 Lincoln SA200 Miller Bobcat 225GVictor torchesH&M and Mathey beveling machinesMcElroy Plastic pipe fusion
