What are your opinions of this weld table? Im not sure i want to cough up 400.....What is a fair offer?http://sacramento.craigslist.org/hvo/4893511016.html
Reply:200 maybe
Reply:Round table is not my favorite. $400 should be enough for steel to buil what you want depending on prices in your area. If I needed one maybe $200 as mentioned.
Reply:There was a big round like that for sale here for awhile. I thought and thought about clamping. Anything straight would be a pain having clamps that would reach in far enough a lot of the time."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Having a table with straight sides rather than round will help you setup your steel preparatory to welding.  I always get my long piece lined up with the front edge, then go from there with steel carpenter squares.  A straight square edge is also nice to have if you are trying to shape sheet metal.Miller Syncrowave 350Millermatic 252/ 30A spoolgunMiller Bobcat 225g w/ 3545 spoolgunLincoln PowerArc4000Lincoln 175 Mig  Lincoln 135 Mig Everlast 250EX TigCentury ac/dc 230 amp stickVictor O/AHypertherm 1000 plasma
Reply:Yeah....just what i was thinking, the 400 could buy the steel i need.
Reply:That's going nowhere soon at $400. I wouldn't pay more than $100
Reply:It's a nice table as a secondary table... put some wheels and levelers on it for convenience. But, Not for $400.. $200.00 maybe.     not sure what surplus steel is in your area...  but it's $1.00 a Lb. over here...    just sayin..Miller 211Hypertherm PM 451961 Lincoln Idealarc 250HTP 221  True Wisdom only comes from Pain.

Reply:While a round table isn't always the best it works ok for some type of work.   As for buying the steel to make that table for $400 I say good luck. It doesn't look like it till you read that the tubing is 6" but that table is really heavy. It's at least a 1" thick top and possibly more by my guess.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:I use an industrial leg type rectangular table that is im guessing 24"? x 60" I thought about putting casters on it and rolling it around but have not done that and have had it for about 6 or 7 years. it has a shelf under it for storing scrap pieces and clamps etc. I absolutely love it and u can turn things sideways to hang over or use it length wise for longer projects to hang over I don't think I would do well with a round table and 48" diameter would probably not work very well for me personally it might be to big for something and not big enough for others that is why I like the rectangular type so u can use the narrow width side and length to make things work. just my .02
Reply:Oroville is too far...I'll look at that one from turlock. Don't know how I missed it.

Reply:i picked up a 4x4' table with 3/4" top for $200 in charlotte, nc they usually go foraround $250, no way $400!
Reply:$400 for that table, no.Make your own table, yes.-you can make it the way you want,-a table that you designed and made is satisfying,-and it's good practice measuring, cutting, welding, etc...That being said, I need a new table and I think that I'm going to buy one of those miller folding tables, for $244,because I think it's a good deal, and I like the cross patternin the middle for the clamps.(I am not affiliated with Miller)AHP AlphaTig 200x 3rd gen.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

Reply:Build a small table with a slotted top.The top can be made with 4 inch channel spaced 9/16" apart.Use drill press clamps to hold parts down.Legs can be made with 3x3 angle. My table is 2x3 feet with a small vise on one end.Easy to move around. You could build two tables for 400.00.Put them together when you need a big table.Casters with brakes. My first table was 4x4 made of wood.Scorched it at times but it served for many years.
