Have you ever gotten halfway through a tube and realized that the first half is still inside the hole saw and you can't push through to the other end making a complete notch?what did you do? I pulled the tube out, flipped it over and cut from the other side. Then I wondered why there are no deep hole saws.I would love to get a 2-1/2 inch long hole saw for 2 inch tubing. Just wondering if I am the only one.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:Make a deeper hole saw, if you can't buy one. Cut a normal one and weld a piece of tubing into it to extend it. Obviously you have to be careful about getting it too hot, but it will work.
Reply:I just always make sure to cut the end of the pipe so that it cuts the notch in two pieces.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Heheh, all the time, what ever you do don't reverse the drill, I knocked half the teeth off my starret hole saw running it backwards trying to pop the peice out without having to remove it from the setup.
Reply:Happens all the time. I usually grip the remaining material with some pliers, snap it loose, then complete the cut with the hole saw. |
