looking at a Lincoln R3S-325

There is a Lincoln R3S-250 Lincoln on craigslist with a wire feed unit and I was wondering if these are a decent machine. I have 3 phase, just curious about how they weld and if they are worth messing with?Last edited by idacal; 01-09-2010 at 08:04 PM.
Reply:They're bullet proof and have excellent welding characteristics.Big sister, R3S-400, has been an absolutely trouble free shop welder; and this is her second career, she's a retired production welder. Reply:not sure of the gun, I think its a 350 amp, but it has a newer ln 25 with regulator as a feeder there asking 900.00 for both so i dont think I can go wrong but not sure. I paid over 900 a few years ago for my older ln 25 that i use for my miller gas welder.
Reply:I hate to say it, in the rust belt plenty have gone begging with no takers for $300.About a year ago I watched a whole row of in-use Lincolns complete with loaded feeders, they brought practically nothing on sale day.Maybe $500, if it's nearby, and you can test it, and you need it now?Good LuckLast edited by denrep; 01-10-2010 at 02:46 PM.

Reply:thanks denrep, I didnt realize how cheap those welders used are. I guess I will hold off for a bigger better deal. I would rather have something newer anyway that doesnt make the power meter go crazy
