what do you think about this table top?Comes in 3/8" and larger with slots cut in 24"x48", 36x48 etcI need something for smaller projectsThey want $195 for the 3/8" 2'x4' version and can ship it UPS...the local steel yard wants the same price for that size with no slots http://www.jmrmfg.com/featured-tools...cation-tables/
Reply:I would be concerned with the holes being milled or flame cut out of the plate....if it was flame cut I would have a concern with the table not being flat. If it was milled I wouldnt have any concern but the price seems to cheap for that. Nice looking product though. Good luck with your purchase.AWS CWI/CWEASNT NDT Level 2 PT/MTAWS Certified Welder(aerospace)
Reply:Well, I don't think those slots are milled, the corners are pretty square (milled would have a bigger radius). I'd bet its plasma cut, or possibly water jet cut. I think that's a pretty reasonable price for that, but I wonder how much the UPS shipping will be.Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch

Reply:HAHA... that thing looks heavy...the 3/8" top costs $89 to ship it UPS to meI'm keeping my eye out for tops or scrap steel in my area...but might soon pull the trigger on this top we'll see
Reply:I designed the table top in question. It is laser cut. We will be offering thicker models that are blanchard ground. More information on those will be released soon. The 2x4x3/8 table top is something I have used in the shop for years. I thought it would be a great size to offer. The 2x4x3/8 table is the only one we are making that can be UPS shipped. Other sizes coming soon are:3x44x44x6and other custom sizes available. If you have any questions let me know. ThanksDan"I Build Stuff"www.jmrmfg.comwww.509media.com
