door security

hi thereI have built a few steel doors out of 40mm box iron. these have all been hinged doors  and in places where high security isn't required. I have to build a sliding doorI don't think the sliding part will be a problem. what I am looking for are ways to lock and secure the door. this is a door for a workshop so security will be high. thanks  alan
Reply:Probably waaaaaaaaaaay overkill but not long ago I worked putting together a project for a jail in Mexico (for women, mind you). I had been involved in access controll and security before, but never at this level. I came across a few brands but we settled on Airteq for our specifications. You may have a look at their products and you will probably be able to steal some ideas. You could also just buy the lock and incorporate it into your sliding door design.Mikel

Reply:the door will role all the way to the right to leave the full opening free. thinking more about how to phrase this. I think I am really asking more about how to protect a pad lock or creating a system where the locking mechanism is really secure
