I was wondering if anyone had built one and could suggest steel sizes It would be about 4-5 feet long and hinge to the back of the trailer. Horses are about 1200 lbs. I got a 230ac/140dc shop welder and a Miller Renegade to use Thanks
Reply:I have done repairs on one horse trailer ramp door, but it was made out of aluminum. I was surprised at how light duty it was. Your best bet is to find a commercial design and copy it. Surf the web for pictures or go to a horse show and ask people how their trailer has held up over time. Should be pretty easy to find a good design.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8
Reply:Every ramp I was finding was also aluminum which is far beyond my skills at this point. I might try to find one of the litigated used on a delivery truck and get some info from that. Thanks for the help.
