I have a Milwaukee 6190-20 Dry Cut 14" chop saw. The included blade, Milwaukee's 72 Tooth Dry Cut Carbide Tipped 48-40-4505, lasted almost a year. In learning how to use the saw, I broke a tooth off the blade when I didn't have the material clamped well enough. It is now dull and I need a replacement blade.I am cutting up to 1/8" wall mild steel tubing with it.I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions on a different blade. Or is the Milwaukee 72 tooth blade the best for this saw and application? Thanks in advnace!Steven
Reply:No Milwaukee blade is the best....they bite from my experience with them. I use DeWalt and Metal Devil Blades. The MD's seem to be sharper, but only lasted about 3/4 of the DW. Hard to tell if it was the blade or if it was me. I was planning on trying Evolution's 14" blade next. FWIW, if you look on Ebay, you can sometimes find blades in the 70 clam range.QamuIs Heg qaq law' lorvIs yInqaq puS
Reply:I don't know a whole lot about dry cut saws. But I have a Milwaulkee abrasive blade cutoff saw. I assume from reading this post that dry cut blades have teeth. Will one of those blades fit an abrasive saw? Seems like it would be a lot more useful. (Didn't mean to hijack the thread by the way)
Reply:The dry cut blades spin at a lot lower rpm than the abrasive blades and can only be used in a saw specifically designed for them. The dry cut blades do have teeth. I'm very happy with the dry cut saw. I stopped by the local tool shop today, they have a replacement blade for $90. I don't recall the brand/model right now.
Reply:i don't think the evolution blades work on other 14" saws.  I thought the evolutions use a 3/4" arbor whee all other saws use a 1" arbor.
Reply:I have the 14" DeWalt chop saw. Its been pretty good for me to cut sqaure tubing and angle iron. I cut a 2" piece of Schedule 40 pipe once and it was slow going but it did cut it. Pretty darn good for the price.
Reply:also, check Ebay for the Freud blades.  there were some great deals on the 14" dry cut saw blades.....  arund $60.  alot better than $125.
Reply:I have used my MasterHand 14" DryCut Saw to cut 4" 3/16 wall square tube.....no problem.  I go slowly and let the saw do the work.  If you force it, you'll damage the blade.I have also cut 1/4" x 2" plate. again.....no problem.

Reply:Use the Freud Diablo Demon Metal Cutting Blades. The 12" blades for the Makita LC1230, that I use are $38 each. The 14"  Blades, for the Milwaukee, Dewalt, Evo, and other brands that take the 14" dry cut blades are less than $40 each.I buy all mine from Cripe Distributing . Fast shipping, and cheap prices. Here r the 14" oneshttp://www.cripedistributing.com/fre...9a819868908f2a

Reply:Thanks a ton ace4059! I'm ordering 3 of those blades for about the price of one blade locally.
Reply:I buy 5 blades at a time from Cripe. I have the Makita cold saw and I get 1000+ cuts out of a blade. When they dull, I throw them away, its not worth sharpening them.
Reply:I bought a couple of the blades from Cripe a couple months ago. I've been using it to cut 2 x 3 x .120 tubing and I'm very pleased with the cut. The price was great too!
