I started building my cart today and decided to regroup before I went any further.  Right now I have the top of the cart at 27" but I still have to add casters so I'm hoping it's not too high when I'm finished.  I built it for two bottles because I know at some point I'll want to add a spool gun and probably a tig machine so I thought I'd make room for another bottle now.  I still need to add more supports on the upper tray to support the 210 because I'm going to use grating for the base.  I used 1" tube for the main frame and 3/4" for the inner supports because with the grating it should have a small lip around the machine so I think it should sit in there pretty nice.  The smaller tubing was harder to work with than I expected.  I used $50 worth of wire and ground $49 worth of it away LOL.  I'm surprised at how stout the cart really is.  Anyway, this is where I'm at so far. Reply:The finished height will be fine . Here's one I just finished. The 211 in the middle is 28'' above ground the way it sits at he front. The top shelf with the CST 280 is 42 ''. Height sometimes depends on where you weld most. For bench work I prefer higher. It's more of a personal choice. http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...1-211-CART-And

Reply:I would add a middle shelf, will add some storage space. Possibly for a plasma cutter in the near future :-).Miller Maxstar 200 SDPiperliner #10 Gold

Reply:That's pretty cool!! Really good, simple design, really straight forward and I like the angle the machine sits on. I really like that.
Reply:Looking good so far.

Reply:The cart i built is quite the same, but the welder is flat, not on a slope. Nice work on the cart. What are your plans with cable reels? I just put some angle going out, then a little bit of flat bar. Works great! And i just put 1/8 inch plate on the top rack, and bottom. Keep the build coming!
Reply:Wonder what is with the silver on the argon tanks, seem to be seeing that a lot lately?Magazines have issues, everything else has problems
Reply:Thanks for the replies.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the cables yet, I plan on working on it this weekend.  I may use 1/8" plate for the shelves also.  I'm not sure why I put the welder on a slope, I noticed most people do so it so I just followed along.  Powrguy your cart looks extremely heavy duty.  What size tube did you use?

Reply:Made a little more progress today.  I still need to add the shelving and figure out a system for securing the bottles (I'll have 2).  Next weekend I'm going to sand it down and put some paint on it.  I've learned quite a bit from the build.  If I build another I think it should go faster. Reply:Coming along very nice, along the line for what I would build -- I have not built anything in over a year and iching to build a cart as well - but still have work to do on the garage shop rebuild.Keep grindingPatrick
Reply:I think I'll just copy yours!  LOL
Reply:It look good. I might suggest adding some heavy expanded metal on the bottom. It makes a excellent place to store things...and does not add much weight. If you weld it from the bottom, it offers a nice clean look. Good Luck!
