My Welders ''3rd'' Hand

After seeing a lot of these, I finally decided to make one after I don't know how many times I could of used one to hold down small parts while tig welding. I decided to add a copper mig tip to mine, try to prevent arc strikes on the piece being held. The base is 2'' 1018 round stock with ends cleaned up on the lathe. The rest is 3/8'' 304 stainless. I wanted to do all stainless, but I didn't have any 2'' ss round stock and how much are you going to spend on this, its just a holder. The end was threaded 1/4-28 to fit a standard mig tip. I actually turned the end of the mig tip down on the lathe to make it a little more of a point. Seems to work fine for me.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
