Reply:that thing is the worst pos I have ever used! The most inconsistent, no arc force having, arc extinguishing piece of garbage on the planet. I honestly hate it. Whats really jacked up is parks and rec (the department I did the job for) has two miller bobcats and not one weldor on the crew.........and I get this thing.  lmao!

Reply:Code official will probably want a hadrail on both sides of the stair, that is if your area has one. Otherwise it'll be the state inspector if someone calls him to sign off on the work.
Reply:Because the top step is only 16" or so off the ground, I doubt that they'll require a second handrail.  However, when installing bleachers at the local field, we were required to have the rear and sides of the bleachers wrapped with chain-link fence.  We were also required to remodel a section for wheelchair access (along with a ramp).  The concrete area off to the side didn't count as a handicap area.I realize that these aren't a new set of bleachers, but we had to upgrade ours with aluminum planks on the back of the foot area, to keep anyone from slipping through the opening.It gets very expensive when the State gets involved (but it could also get expensive when the lawyers get involved after an accident!)JackLast edited by jmhoying; 01-17-2014 at 12:44 PM.JackFort Loramie, OhioMilermatic Autoset 180
Reply:I work for the city, I pretty much just do what im told. The handicapped entry is a good idea! They should have at least one set of bleachers thats handicap accessible.  I will bring that up to the bossman. Anyone got any pics of handicapped friendly bleachers so I know what we are going for?
