My associate was so tired of messing around with a drum smoker and his cabellas smoker was too small. I was talking with him and said hey what about using a steel filing cabinet?, he said that might work. I obtained an old filing cabinet and welded up a simple stand added a burner and a few holes and now we have a perfect smoker...

Reply:I wish I had pictures, I can't take them now Huricane Irene took my smoker away. I used 4 12' 2x4, and pine boards, built a little A frame house on stilts. Under the stilts sat a wood stove. I used copper ground rod, and copper wire to hang much of a pig. About 8 hours made the nicest Hickory smoked ham, shoulder, and bacon I've had. I like to smoke it before grinding sausage and ground pork also.

Reply:We never really hot smoke much and it's absolutely perfect for BACON which will be put in after a few days. This has been used several times already and we never had any problems with paint leaching Sent from my SCH-I415 using Tapatalk
