I'm looking for a plasma cutter. I have a project that needs 1/8" thick sheets cut... so to be "future-proof" i'm looking for something that will cut up to 1/2 inch or 7/16.preferably so cal, within 40 miles of Upland, CA.my budget is around $500, if you have a nicer, newer unit, i'd pay more.if you dont have one, but have a suggestion on what model i should buy, please chime in as well, I need to be educated.Or if anyone has spare oxy/ace tank that they can loan me for a few days, that might work too. i have cutting tips and torch.thanks.
Reply:Possible choices in the new arena of machines would be Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 39, Hpertherm Powermax 30, HTP Micro Cut 40, and probably others Im not aware of. All of these should fit your requirements. You may also check out Ebay and Craig's list for machines for sale. Reply:Look for a used Spectrum 375 or Powermax 380. The Powermax 30 and Spectrum 375 XTreme are both too new to be in your price range used.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Got a Thermal Dynamics CutMaster 50 and a Lincoln SP170-T (didn't come with regulator or tank) for $950. Now i need a beefier air compressor. |
