Burglar hand gun strong box

I thought I'd share this simple idea.  Here's a cheapy I made out of 1/8" with a simple combo pad lock.  It's just to keep the visiting nephew and niece's little hands off when visiting, and/or to keep the home burglar from using my wife's gun on me when we come home through the front door.   This box is so much more stronger than the average 14ga sheet metal hand gun box one buys at a Big-5.  The door sits recessed a bit to prevent easy prying.  The door can't be forcibly pushed-in due to 1/4" dead-stops welded within on each side. Solid welds on all joints with ER70s-6 and 75/25 gas.  A small flashlight next to the box, to aid in opening it in a hurry.  All of the other guns are in the basement in two full size gun safes, with the exception of the one that I carry 24/7 and another "hidden" gun for the downstairs.   This little box sits under the bathroom sink.  Most burglars go to the master bedroom and search either the master closet and/or the dresser drawers first.  They shouldn't find this hide-out gun.  Even if they take the entire box, the point is that they can't use the gun on me, should I come home while they're upstairs.  If they take the box with the gun, so what.  I have great insurance that covers my guns. Use a backhoe for Christ sakes! Reply:Is it just me or were you standing on your head when you took the picture? Looks nice and strong. Drill some holes in the bottom and bolt it down. Any worries about humidity in the bathroom?

Reply:Nice box.  I plan on putting an exterior door on one of our closets or bathrooms so it can be used as a panic room.  Then, similar to you, will bolt a biometric handgun safe into the back of the towel cabinet.

Reply:Unfortunately that's what the government is trying to do to us here in the US as well.  Take away our guns so the crooks and government can take over without any resistance.  The words crooks and government can be used interchangeably if you want.
