Wrought iron gate wheel casters build ideas

I am wanting to build a gate that is 10.5ft long hinged from a concrete wall. I can only be hinged from one side and I have an uneven surface (grass) to rest on. I would like to build a wheel system that will give some support to the fence but also vary for the different ground height.Anybody have an idea or built something like this?Please let me know,
Reply:Maybe a wide wheel fabricated from pipe (to avoid excessive ruts) over a commercial hub and swinging on a cantilever mount (like motor cycle swing arm) mounted on a torsion spring?
Reply:Somebody on here made a gate like yours in which they used the spring-over-shock from a BMX bike to have the caster in constant contact with the changing elevation of the pavement. Great idea that they had. Well done too. Cheap to find a used shock set-up from CL, cop shop etc.

Reply:Caster on a gate is one of the worst things you can do. They are only put there to prop up poor design and installation. I have put up 16' single swing gates with no wheel. If the block wall is no up to the task of supporting the gate, and they rarely are, then you need to excavate a hole for a post. There is usually under pour for the footing. You can either chip it away, or just put a dogleg in your post. Be sure to attach the post to the wall as well.
