Hello everyone,I'm thinking of building an aluminum enclosed trailer because here in Chile do not sell.I have a welder Lincoln Invertec but at the time I lost some accessories. I have some experience in all types of welds including Durafix and TIG.My question is using TIG or Durafix welding. Durafix published some videos where supposedly the weld is stronger than the aluminum and buy a professional gas torch is more or less the same than buying missing accessories for my Lincoln and Argon gas cylinder that is very expensive here.Using Durafix or use TIG? Why?
Reply:durafix is not welding..it has its applications that work well, but not for what you want to do..it will not hold up building a trailer..its mostly used to repair aluminum castings in short...Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:durafix cracks easily, it will not work for making a trailer, sorry.
Reply:Thanks to you both. Is clear now that I will use my TIG. |
