MM250 pics

Building a box frame today for an aquarium lid that'll be covered in wood and thought, since I never post pictures of my beginner work, that I'd post a few. There are 2 box frames separated on the corners by 12" uprights made out of 1" square, 16ga box welded 18.5/55 on the MM250. Pics are of beads and after grinding flat.

Reply:Yes, the girls are "beautiful works". That's why I took the picture at that angle. I had to give you all something to look at besides my beginner welds.

Reply:What size wire are you running? Those beads are very large for such thin material. Keep in mind for filets you only need to have the legs the thickness of the base material, so 1/16" roughly. It's tough to get beads that small with mig, but those look closer to 1/4" +. If you are running big wire, say .035 then it gets even harder to make small beads..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Thanks Mike. Back at it today with .030 when the alfalfa's off-loaded and the Corrientes are moved. Gotta grab air and wire too from AirGas. I'll be looking for that "shipping and handling" fee too. Oh, that was Fastenal. Oh well, wouldn't surprise me if PraxAir and AirGas were in the same racket. Boy that frosted my lens when they did that!
