The better half has been after me for awhile to make a table to go behind the couch.....you know..... for a lamp and other stuff to have a place to exist.......I've been putting it off....... mostly because I have dominoes and crosses to make...... HA....Today I decided to get started on her project..... using scrap.......I used the old doors from my cabinet.... I only have a 12 inch depth to work with.... so I went and purchased a 12" piece of wood that is 3 feet long....... the butcher block type wood......So I cut and spliced the old doors that I removed from my cabinet build...........The project isn't done yet.... but it's 80% done........Still to do........ leveling feet...... 1" angle to go around the table.... paint for the metal.... stain for the wood..... (ie: 3 more Saturday's............ )......Here are the old doors cut down and spliced...... (2nd pic shows old spliced doors laying against the new doors)....... Reply:It already looks good. Great to recycle old stuff and making something new. Like the combination of wood and metal. Can't wait to see the finish product.

Reply:I made a little more progress today......I got the top put together so that the wood would have a home......I also went to Tractor Supply and got some 1" nuts and bolts...... welded those on.......Damn Zinc coating sucks......... even with flapping it..... still sucks to weld..........Anyway... i now have leveling feet........ and now just need paint and it's a done project.......I'm about 20% happy with this project..........PICS....... Reply:This one only has three coats and it has like a semi gloss coating. i have since done a smaller table and coated it at least five times and its supper pretty. Attached Images
