Lack of space might force the sale of my Aerowave

First, hello weldingweb members! I'm glad to be here.Lack of space might force me to part with my Miller Aerowave I just spent months acquiring. This is kind of a feeler post to see how much it's worth. If I lose too much on it it becomes more cost effective to build the extra space (I'm a GC by trade) so that's why it's not an official sale...yet.I don't know what model year it is but if there is a way to identify it I will be more than happy to post it. Here's what I do know about it's previous life: The welder was originally purchased by an Aerospace Fabrication shop in West Palm beach. They assigned welders to specific machines and I bought this off the guy who got it assigned to him when it was new. He left the company about a year and a half ago to start his own shop and was given the option to purchase the welder (they upgraded to Dynasty 700s) so of course he did. It made a home in his one bay fab shop until I bought it.The machine is in Good-Excellent Condition and was serviced/checked out about a month before I bought it. The machine was acting up and the owner paniced but it turned out to just be a faulty finger tip control so no need to worry. IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY!Asking for some professional help here; What is this thing really worth?

I have wanted an Aerowave for years, But to be entirely honest now that I am getting close to buying one I am learning that unless a person needed some very specific feature that these units have, most of us would be just as well off with a dynasty or some other high end ac/dc tig unit.  What this has brought me to realize is that it may be unwise for me to spend too much on one of these machines. I expect that many others will come to this conclusion as time goes by as well.  Personally I tend to believe that the Aerowave is built to a higher level of quality than any machine is today. Sadly as time passes the weld engineers are learning to build inverter power supplies more reliably as components become more advanced.     Now that I have said all this....I have to ask....how much do you have invested ?
Reply:kurfgator,Think the previous poster made some very valid points.If you provide a serial number, we can tell you precisely when the machine was produced.The aerowave, in it's day, was a premier machine, designed for a specific task.  Several knowledgeable posters have commented that it's a well built/designed machine, but very difficult (and expensive) to work on should there be a problem.  I would think that this would negatively affect your getting top dollar for the machine.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:I know the machine is definitely WAY more than most people need. I've read a lot about it, that's why I bought it. I got it for a couple hundred less than what a used Dynasty 200 was going for at the time so it was a deal to me. I always appreciate people being honest. I don't expect to get top dollar for it, just wanted to see what range I would be in to see if it's worth a change. Maybe it is time to redo the garage after allMine has a cart, 250A torch, regulator, foot pedal, finger tip control and I will include a ITW 3500SS that is BRAND NEW!! If someone has an offer shoot it my way. I'll post the serial number when I get home. Thanks for the advice everyone.
