Shipping Method For Lincoln's Welders

For those of you who have ordered a Lincoln welder online or from a Vendor who had to ship it to you, how did it arrive?  Truck, Freight, UPS, FedEX?  Im assuming someone has to be there to sign for it.  I am expecting my Precision TIG 185 next week, and Im not sure who its coming, and if I should have someone at home for it.Thanks,Jim
Reply:my HH175 came via UPS, came home from work and it was sitting on the front porch.  not sure what the criteria is for having to have someone for something.
Reply:Jim;You need to call the people you ordered it from and find out how they are shipping it. My Miller SD 180, A similar machine to the Lincoln arrived by Motor Freight. Do you have a method to get it off of the truck. My Miller has a lifting Eye. I used a shackle and my engine hoist. If you find out what Freight line, you can call their local dispatch and make arrangement for pick up.Good luck with your machine. The advertisements are impressive. You'll probably be the first kid in your neighborrhood to have one. keep us informed.
Reply:Thanks for all the help, I will call them this Tuesday when it is suppose to ship from Lincoln.  I had no idea I would have to lift it off the truck myself, hopefully the truck will have a liftgate, if not im screwed.....but I am assuming since its almost 300lbs, it will come by a truck.  Did you have pay any extra charges for residential delivery?  I paid for shipping when I bought the thing, they better not try to charge me more.Thanks,Jim
Reply:The Shipping was prepaid on both my welders thst I bought from B&R. They came on different truck lines. Neither truck had a Tommy lift. When you find out the Freight line call local dispatch. If you have a truck, you could probably be able to pick it up at the terminal. or have them call prior to deliverly, rent an engine hoist, or get about six big "bubba's" to help unload it.Good luck.
Reply:Lincoln drop ships.  It will arrive freight and probably require a signature.  If you contact the retailer, they should have a number at Lincoln corporate that you can call to get shipping info.
Reply:Also get a PRO number along with the frieght lines name. Then you should be able to track from point to point. I ordered and had frieght shipped (pickup) (400#)  an air suspension system for my truck. I live midway between two large cities, one that I work in and the one that the frieght company decided was closer to my home. I tried to change it to work location terminal (1 mile), but ended up traveling 100 miles to the "closer" terminal. Only way to find my shipment was PRO number.Weld Safe and enjoy the new machine.!!!

Reply:I contacted support @ www.tig185.com last week and was told "The PT185 is running at about a 2-3 week backlog currently because of its high demand".  Here in Canada, Lincoln doesn't expect to see deliveries until early April.  In spite of that, I put down a deposit to get on the list and I'm waiting...

Reply:I'd hang in there!  You are so close now and the cart package is a very nice addition.How can the ebay guy have 5 units sitting there, when Lincoln have a backlog?  Lincoln needs to get involved and assist in the distribution of the goods.
