Has anyone here heard of/used this product?http://www.kobelcowelding.com/pdf/Fa...Stainless).pdf
Reply:Hello vwguy3, as this is a flux-cored/gas shielded wire, Yes, 75/25 is the correct shielding and it works extremely well for welding stainless steel. The flux/gas combination makes this stainless steel operate in a spray mode even though the "voltages" may not support this in the same manner as what you would experience if you were using SS solid wire with 98/2 gas or a stainless tri-mix gas. Kobelco is also known for some top rate fillers. Good luck and best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Thanks Allan. I had never heard of this product and was talking to some guys using it and they said they used 75/25 or straight CO2........which seemed so wrong. I called Kobelco and was told(in pretty broken english) the magic is all in the flux. If I had the opportunity to MIG any amount of stainless I would use A-1025 just because I have easy access to it. |
