I got the gloves from harbor freight, and they are ok, but they are way too hard and they are big. I would like a pair of gloves that protect my skin and I can grab a nut from the ground with them if I have too. Working on my grape vine arbor, I had to weld lots of nuts on a square tube and the most time consuming part was to take my gloves off and put my gloves back on so I can set each nut in place. Are there any such welding gloves, that protect, are comfortable and you still can feel a little with your fingers on touching?Last edited by ioan; 05-21-2015 at 01:18 PM.
Reply:I use the Tilman 42 gloves for mig and some stick. Good dexterity so I can use them on tig demos if need be, but more heat resistance than my light weight Tilman 24 tig gloves.Best bet is to go to a couple of welding supply places and try on some gloves and see what you do or don't like. My biggest problem with stock gloves is that I have short fingers. Usually I need them to order me what ever gloves I like in Medium as the stock large gloves are way too big in the fingers for me. I can squeeze my hands in a pair of small tig gloves and the fingers fit almost perfect, but the palms are just too tight for comfort. The mediums the fingers are just a tiny bit long, but not too bad..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
