I just picked up a Firepower FP235 welder and the only thing I can see wrong with it, is one of the AC terminal insulators (on the welder) is broken. Does anyone know who makes or has parts for this welder?
Reply:It's my understanding Firepower is a Thermadyne company although it's not listed on their main website. I'd start by contacting them.http://www.thermadyne.com/thermalarc...ge/Itemid,241/MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Yes, I believe Firepower is part of Thermal Arc, their lower price product line.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:. . . and I read somewhere they may be the same as some Sears machines (built by Thermadyne no doubt) so you may want to check there as well.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks for the info. This is a 10 year old welder that I picked up off craigslist for $100.00. I believe I have found some on Ebay. They are called Female Dinsel Plug 25mm. But for now I made a insulator out of (I believe it's called) Bakelite.
Reply:You'll find that's "Dinse" and if that 10yo machine is equipped with them you can find replacements at Lenco http://profaxlenco.com/index.php?q=catalog_lenco or at Miller4less.com http://miller4less.com/advanced_sear...1b323d&x=7&y=4 but they're a litle pricey just for a replacement insulator.Does the cable male end have a tab on it or is it just a slightly tapered "pin"?MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:The cable goes in and you twist it to lock it. It is the small .355 type. For now what I have will work. ThanksLast edited by Jackson; 10-17-2010 at 10:54 AM. |
